The Woolshed Roof

We’re delighted to share that work on the roof replacement at the Windy Station Woolshed is officially underway.
Following an intense storm that struck the farm in January 2025, part of the woolshed roof was peeled away, exposing internal timbers and structural beams to the elements. While the damage was confronting, quick action was taken at the time, with a large tarp installed to protect the building and prevent further deterioration.
Over the past 12 months, planning, assessments, and coordination have taken place to ensure the next steps would be done properly and with care. Now, after a long wait, it’s exciting to see this important restoration project finally moving forward.
Mable Projects have been engaged to undertake the roof replacement works. Their team has now commenced on site, bringing experience and expertise to what is a significant milestone in the ongoing care of the Windy Station Woolshed. The project is expected to take approximately three to four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
This stage of work is a crucial step in safeguarding the structure for the future. Replacing the roof will not only protect the internal timbers and beams from further exposure, but also allow future conservation and use of the woolshed to progress with confidence.
We’re incredibly pleased to see tangible progress after a challenging year and look forward to sharing updates as the project continues to take shape over the coming weeks.
