The LIVERPOOL PLAINS
SUNFLOWER TRAIL
NOW OPEN
We are excited to once again welcome visitors to our 11 hectare Sunflower patch. The opening coincides with the Tamworth Country Music Festival and forms part of the wider The Plains Inc Sunflower Trail, bringing people into our region and supporting local businesses and towns.
Entry to the sunflower paddock is free, and biosecurity measures are in place to help protect the crop, these are simple steps that make a big difference and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation.
Please note that there are no toilets or water at the paddock. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a lead. Feel free to cut a stem or two - don’t forget your secateurs!
HOW TO GET THERE
From Quirindi, follow signs to Gunnedah and the Kamilaroi Highway. Turn off the highway at Warrah Ridge Road, and follow it right to the end where you'll turn left at Cattle Lane. Follow Cattle Lane for 6kms and the sunflowers will be located on the right side of the road.
From Willow Tree, follow signs to Blackville and along Merriwa Road. Turn right onto Harrisons Plains Rd and follow all the way to the end. Turn right onto Cattle Lane. The sunflowers will be on your left.
Each of these routes will take 30 minutes.
Further directions to the patch and to others on the Liverpool Plains can be found by downloading The Plains Inc Sunflower Trail Map. To ensure everyone’s safety and to respect the working property, entry into Windy Station and the Woolshed is not permitted during this time.
We encourage visitors to make a day or a weekend of it by supporting nearby towns and villages. Grab a coffee or lunch, explore the local area, or stay overnight and really soak up the atmosphere.
